Our Approach

Mold Remediation

Although each situation can be very different all of our procedures are carried out in accordance with IICRC S520 national mold remediation standards. We understand that this is not something you do every day and we are more than happy discuss our process in detail with you in advance so that you are 100% comfortable using our services. We start each job with a practical and affordable approach; if it can be cleaned, and disinfected, we will do just that. If the situation appears that further steps will be necessary to guarantee your mold threat has been removed, we will also discuss those procedures in advance. Through use of EPA approved cleaners, disinfectants, HEPA vacuums, and other specialized pieces of equipment, we produce the results necessary to remove the threat of mold.

Destructive Remediation

In some cases, some materials are too porous, damaged or are just not cleanable; in that case, we will remove and dispose of them. However it is always our practice to remove only what is necessary unless our client has requested further destructive inspections beyond our recommendation during the initial consultation. Be well aware that if you have experienced flooding or excessive water damage of any type you may need to remove some materials to properly clean up the contamination.

Appearance enhancement

In some cases even after a professional cleaning and disinfecting, mold can leave behind some stains or even slight surface damage. Although these areas are generally safe and neutralized, the unsightly remaining stains may create unnecessary cause for concern for anyone who can see them. Our solution is simple, if after our cleaning and disinfecting process the area still appears to look questionable and will be a concern, they may require appearance enhancement. This can consist of many different possibilities of mold resistant coatings depending on the material in question. Most of these coatings are mold resistant, water proof products that will not only eliminate the visual concern but will also help seal the Block, wood or other materials from future moisture intrusion and mold growth. Please note that the IICRC standards specifically state that all contamination must be removed first before any appearance enhancements are ever applied to a contaminated area. In other words, you don’t want to just roll paint over mold to hide it.

Mold and Mildew odor control

Frequently clients will notice that they can’t see mold but there appears to be a strong musty odor, if you can smell it, there is mold and or mildew active in the area. We use all EPA registered and biodegradable products in our mold control fogging process that allows us to safely Fog an entire home or just one specific area. This process is typically a one day procedure and can be done separately or in conjunction with our mold remediation. This process may require the building be unoccupied for a day or less.

We are confident and stand behind our 100% money back guarantee and 1 year warranty that the mold hazard will not return if the moisture levels remain normal.

Please note that in order to make sure that your mold doesn’t return you must remove the source of moisture. Affiliated Building Services does not solve the cause or source of moisture.
